you let Kevin know on the 16th.....they officially hit the waiver wire after the sim on 17th and that the site was updated so that the whole league can see that they are on waivers, and they were claimed before the sim on the 18th. So I have no idea where you're going with this man.

However neither Langkow or Whitney should be on Dave's minor league roster. Can this be corrected? They should be on his pro roster, and if tries to send them through they should be back on waivers.

im sry but it shouldnt be like that if i waived them on the 16th then they should be waived on the 16th!! not 3 days later??? in the NHL when they put aplayer on waiver its the same day they announce is not 2 days later buddy soo honestly the league and site didnt have to be updated all the commish had to do was make a thread on Langkow and Whitney on the same day that i mentioned it not a day or 2 days later so sry man but i dnt know where UR going with this!

what he's saying is the only way a player can go on waivers is if you change your lines with the gm editor and actually send down the player, causing him to go on waivers. Because you told someone you wanted to waive them is fine, but that player or players do not actually go on waivers untill the lines are loaded. This is basically a way to ensure the move is legitamite (because the editor asks you if you are sure) and allows the rest of the league the same amount of time to claim the player. If you think msn is a way to announce a waived player you are wrong. But if you would like I can also show my msn conversation that says i would like to claim one of these players...should I wait till its posted in the waiver link? a question I asked when i saw you trade comfirmation stating your were going to waive Whitney.
16/03/2009 9:51:17 PM David Kevin can i make a claim for Whitney now or do I wait for the link to show it?
Keep in mind I'm in a different time zone than you are, hence the time difference.

The just of it is: If you really didn't want to lose them on waivers, then you shouldn't have sent them down.

Yeah there has to be some separation from the NHL and sim worlds.
In the NHL a player literally hits 'the wire' as soon as the GM does it. A fax is sent to team offices, here that just doesnt happen. Its a sim league where we have jobs, school etc etc etc. Our version of the team head office is logging in for 10, 12 minutes or more. 'Receiving the waiver wire fax' can only happen upon logging in and checking out the site. The site is only updated when the commishs have a chance, usually once a day. Anything that happens between updates cannot take effect until the update, and then GMs have a chance to see and react to the latest info and news.
If we want to speed up the waiver process maybe propose a change to the rules. Perhaps make it an option of a GM waiving a player to post his own waivers in the forum and then have 24 hrs before it expires.
Either way though, other teams need a chance to see the player is waived. Other wise, in theory you could TELL the commish 15seconds after the days update, and the player would be cleared waivers by the time the next update was done.

lol i dnt care about losing them man i care about how it happened waive the player in gm editor doesnt work ive tried many times it just closes my gm editor therefore i had no choice to tell the commish myself and yes i do propose that gms post there own waivers therefore u waive them whenever u want not whenever lines are loaded doesnt make sense lets say i needed to waive them to go under cap and i have to wait till the lines are loaded then when the sim comes i end up being over cap i think its more certain and more responsable if everyone posts them themselves and detroit im not asking ur opinion man if u have nothing good to say dnt waste ur time on the forum

Nothing good to say? Twice I've pointed out holes in your argument, and if you want to be like the NHL....here are the rules: Once a player is placed on waivers, teams have 48 hours to put in a claim on that player. If more than one team places a claim, the team with the lower number of points in the previous season is awarded the player. If no team places a claim, the player can be sent to a minor league affiliate. Players are not placed on waivers until 12:00PM ET when the league opens shop for team announcements. That is when the 48 hour waiver period kicks in.
So you informed the commish at 10 PM the night before, the player in the NHL would hit the waiver wire at 12 the next day, and be on waivers for 48 hours. You follow?
SO how do you like dem apples.

in the NHL when they put aplayer on waiver its the same day they announce Juls!!!! Sometimes I wonder if you're on crack!! lol You quoted, what you thought, was an NHL rule, Redwings simply corrected you on what you were saying. You brought up the NHL rules... haha, i find this humourous. But lets just all stop talking about it. Players go on waivers at the time stated in the Waiver Link. Make a suggestion about having the option to post it, sounds like that might be a good option for a GM...
